CCBI-ACT

The A.C.T. consists of 64 credit hours with a time frame not more than twenty-four months. The student, after acceptance into CCBI will receive a packet of materials in the A.C.T. curriculum. This includes a comprehensive notebook of textual information coordinated with twenty-four 45 minute taped lectures and outside assignments. Exams are at the end of each semester's work. Each semester is a complete unit and the four semesters may be taken in any order. Materials are loaned from the National Director's library.

Additional Requirements for A.C.T

Outside Reading

Read through the New Testament twice (2 different translations).
Read and verify 500 additional pages in the areas of Ministry, Doctrine, Christian Education, or Theology. Verification consists of title, source and pages.

Outside Research

Paper - A theological trend affecting the Church today (Minimum of five typed pages or eight if handwritten).

Paper - A study of Salvation (Soteriology, minimum of ten typed pages or fourteen if handwritten).

Definitions: 100 terms to be defined, all dealing with Ministry, Doctrine, Christian Education and Theology.

Course Descriptions

These materials are readily available to most students in developed countries. Students in economically underdeveloped countries should make use of the libraries of fellow pastors, public libraries and resource materials that have been sent to National Directors and area representatives. Our teachers are understanding of alternative materials. If required books are totally unavailable, the student should explain the situation on paper and move forward with the course

101 ENGLISH - Lessons teaching basic fundamental principles of general and Biblical study: writing of term papers; speed reading; spelling and pronunciation; grammar and composition to include letter-writing, punctuation, and sentence structure.

102 MUSIC - Lessons teaching philosophy of church music; selection of church music; basic song leading and sight reading.

103 MISSIONS - History and philosophy of missions in the U. S. and overseas.

104 YOUTH-MINISTRY - How to develop and implement Bible studies and activities for youth to include drama and music.

105 PERSONAL EVANGELISM - Principles for successful soul-winning. Methods of confrontation and memorization of key passages of scripture.

106 CHURCH GROWTH - The organization and administration of the local church and factors for growth. Eight aspects of the local church will be considered and examined for growth potential.

107 Intro Computing - This is a primary course which teaches theory and practical applications in the main areas of computerization needed in the ministry at an introductory level. It involves Windows, Basic Microsoft Office and the Internet with emphasis on the E-mail.

110 MINISTRY PROJECT - Every CCBI student must have a Ministry on a regular basis and report on it every six months, on forms provided. For further information, see page 19.

111 DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY - Deals with the names, personality, and attributes of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

112 GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT - Covers the Pentecostal manifestations of the spiritual gifts and the modern-day applications and relevancy of the spiritual gifts among the body of Christ.

113 DOCTRINE OF SATAN AND DEMONOLOGY - A look at the original state of Lucifer, his fall, his reign as Prince of this world, and his ultimate fate. His demon followers and helpers will also be examined and studied. Discussion of demon possessions and exorcism.

114 DOCTRINE OF HELL - Deals with the subjects of paradise, Gehenna, Hades, Hell, and The Lake of Fire.

115 THANATOLOGY - A study of the physical and spiritual aspects of death. Care will be taken to differentiate between the death of a saint and the death of a sinner.

117 DOCTRINE OF MAN - Deals with man's Adamic nature and standing in regard to God and nature.

118 DOCTRINE OF ANGELS - The order and rank of angels will be considered as well as their attributes, ministry and duties around the Throne.

201 CHRISTIAN EDUCATION - The history and philosophy of Christian Education will be covered as well as a study of the Christian Education of senior saints, adults, teens and children. Also, consideration will be given to Christian Education through the Sunday School and Children's Church programs.

202 DISCIPLING 1 & 2 - A study on how to develop a program of Christian growth and 203 leading new converts and under-developed Christians to spiritual maturity.

204 ENGLISH BIBLE TRANSLATION - A look at the development and history of the English Bible and its modern versions.

205 HOMILETICS & PEDAGOGY - Sermon and lesson preparation to include: gathering information, research, and outlining. Lesson psychology and pulpit presentation will also be examined in the light of God's anointing and unction.

206 BIBLE STUDY METHODS - Learning how to make best use of your Bible study time with the use of proven methods.

207 CHRISTIAN COUNSELING - How to cope and deal with the problems faced by those in and out of the church. Giving reasonable, intellectual and Scriptural answers and help to those in need.

211 COSMIC AGES - A study of the ages in which the earth has been affected on a universal level in the great master plan of God.

212 DISPENSATIONS - A study of the periods of history in which God has dealt with man in His great master plan of redemption.

213 LIFE OF CHRIST - A historical look at the life of Christ upon this earth. From the cradle to the cross, considering His ministry and miracles.

214 LIFE OF PAUL & ACTS - An overview of the Book of Acts, emphasizing the birth of 215the church and the life of the apostles, primarily the apostle Paul.

216 TRIPARTITION OF MAN - A study examining the body, soul and spirit of man. The functions of each and the difference in soul-controlled and spirit-controlled Christians.

217 FALSE RELIGIONS I - An introductory study of the non-Christian religions of the world.

218 SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY - A basic introduction to a systematic approach to theology. Some theological trends and issues affecting the church today will be discussed and examined.

Associate Degrees.

Our Associate programs are entry level courses of study designed to begin preparing people interested in Christian service. Students are then offered an opportunity to continue their studies in our Bachelors program. CCBI offers an Associate of Christian Training (A.C.T.) program and an Associate of Basic Bible Studies (A.B.B.S.) program. Every Associate level student with fewer than 16 transfer of ministry credits must complete four semesters of course work which may be interchanged between A.B.B.S. and A.C.T. curriculum by entire semesters. No semester may be divided. However, all Associate level students, regardless of transfer credits, must complete the First Semester curriculum which includes basic English topics.

Please note that both Associate curricula have outside requirements each semester including reading, writing, research, and practical experience projects in addition to the stated curriculum.

Bachelor Degrees

Applicants must verify 64 credits earned or transferred from an approved post-secondary institution (junior college equivalent), or teachers' college. The Bachelor curriculum forms the core of the entire scope of Caribbean College of the Bible. Students must have satisfactory completion of 16 credits per semester. Completion time not more than 36 months.
