President's Message

At the heart of our mission lies a call to be competent, knowledgeable, and equipped to teach others1. As we strive to be faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ, we must embrace not only purpose and resilience, but also the essential skill of teaching a diverse audience.

Traditionally, ministers have focused on the marginalized—the broken-hearted, the suffering, and the less fortunate. While this is vital, it is equally important to reach out to the intellectual elite: the philosophers, skeptics, and seekers of truth. This includes those from various worldviews, encouraging them to examine their own beliefs and confront the profound truths of faith in Jesus Christ.

Are we hesitant to engage with the learned? Scripture reminds us to study to show ourselves approved2, and we should aspire to articulate the Word of God with clarity, confidence and power.

Consider Jesus, who at just twelve years old engaged with the scholars of His time3. If He could do this, how much more should we, as ministers and educators, rise to the occasion?

In an era defined by exponential growth in knowledge—illustrated by the dramatic increase in educational opportunities—we have a unique responsibility. Within our own country placements for formal education have increased from 15,000 in 2001 to approximately 47,000 places in 2007.

The world now demands that we present the attributes of God in ways that resonate with contemporary disciplines: science, philosophy, mathematics, and beyond.
Knowledge has increased and this is the decade of literacy!

Just as the Apostle Paul boldly addressed the philosophers at the Areopagus, we too must be prepared to engage in thoughtful dialogue and demonstrate how God’s creation reflects His divine nature. By doing so, we can guide inquisitive minds toward a deeper understanding of faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We challenge all prospective students and current educators to become fully equipped—to be both competent and confident in teaching those who seek knowledge. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, let us not leave any question unanswered or any heart untouched.

May you be inspired to embrace this challenge, not just for this decade, but for all the years to come. Together, let us make a lasting impact!
