CCBI

History

Caribbean College of the Bible International was founded in 1978 by Dr. and Mrs. Saunders of Samaritan Inn International, Sunbright Tennessee USA, as a non-profit Distance Learning Bible College. On their retirement in 2004, The College was placed in the hands of the Caribbean Division under its first Caribbean President, Dr. Kathleen James and a local board of Directors on 31st October 2004.

Since then the College became registered with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) in 2009 and became a member of the Caribbean Evangelistic Theological Association (CETA), and Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance Tertiary Education (CANQATE).

In the month of May 2015, Caribbean College of the Bible International (CCBI) was evaluated by the Accreditation Council, and on July 09, 2015, a decision was made by the Board of the Directors of the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT), to register the Caribbean College of the Bible International as a quality institution.

The Future of Learning

Peter Drucker predicts that “universities won’t survive.” The future is outside the traditional campus, outside the traditional classroom. Distance learning is coming on fast.(Gubernick, Lisa and Ebeling, Ashlea (1997), “I Got My Degree Through E-Mail,” Forbes, June, pp. 84-92)

Distance Learning is not coming fast, as Peter Drucker predicts; it is here.

The world has certainly become a very busy place with people having more duties and responsibilities to perform than hours to do so.  Students do not have the time to sit for many hours in a classroom staring at a chalkboard. The way to go is distance learning.

Caribbean College of the Bible International is a distance learning Bible College offering Christian Education to ‘more than a chosen few’.

Misson Statement

The Mission of Caribbean College of the Bible International is to provide students with the opportunity to develop intellectually, emotionally, socially, spiritually, and professionally;

To equip students with the tools for lifelong learning and living of the Word; that they would receive and understand the gospel, and then entrust to faithful men and women who will, in turn, teach others (2 Tim.2:2).

To coordinate a partnership of staff, parents, pastors, mentors, and communities for the benefit of our students, thus enhancing their contributions to the church, community, and the world (kosmos) in which they live.

Vision Statement

The Vision of Caribbean College of the Bible International is to become the premier International, Interdenominational, Interracial, and Distance Learning Bible College in Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean and by extension, the world;

To propagate and disseminate the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the preaching, teaching and living of the Full Gospel Message of the Lord Jesus Christ, and further the cause of the Kingdom of God in Trinidad and Tobago and foreign lands;

To establish, maintain and operate Bible Schools, Seminaries, Colleges, and Universities for the purpose of training and preparing students to be ministers and witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a technologically driven world.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

(Doctrinal Statement)

THE TRINITY
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

THE FATHER
We believe that God the Father is a spiritual being, omnipotent, omniscient, holy, righteous, loving and infinitely good; having life in Himself and giving to all things.

THE SON
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, the only begotten of the Father. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, in His ascension into Heaven, in His present life as our High Priest and Advocate and in His personal return.

THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit in and through the life of the believer; in His empowering and equipping for service and ministry and in His definite, yet progressive work of sanctification, commencing at the time of the new birth and continuing until the consummation of Salvation.

SIN AND SALVATION
We believe that God created man in His own image; that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, physical and spiritual; that all human beings inherit a sinful nature.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a substitute, sacrifice and that all who believe and trust in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

We believe that all who repent of their sin, receive Jesus Christ by faith as Saviour and confess Him as Lord are Born Again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

We believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust and in the eternal blessedness of the children of God.

SCRIPTURE
We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original writing as fully inspired of God and accept them as the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

THE CHURCH
We believe that the one true church is the whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit, that the new birth and personal confession of Christ are therefore essentials of church membership and that the church on earth is the organism through which God says and does what He desires of His world.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances – Baptism and the Lord’s Supper – to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witness to the cardinal facts of the Christian faith.

The Doctrinal Statement for the Caribbean College of the Bible International has been prepared for the protection of our organization against heresy and spiritual weakening, and is considered to be the minimum doctrinal requirement for our interdenominational ministries.
